Persona 4 / Golden

Whimsical Papillon appears in Chapters 5 and 6 of the Void Quest within the Midnight Channel. It will act as a support Shadow for others in the group, buffing its allies and debuffing the party. When defeated, it may drop Shiny Scale. Selling six Shiny Scales at Daidara Metalworks will unlock the Drunken Fist for Teddie in the shop.

In Golden, Whimsical Papillon also appears in Chapter 7. It gains a resistance to electricity. It may also drop Lemon Quartz for trade at Shiroku Pub.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

Whimsical Papillon appears in Stops 3 and 4 of the Group Date Cafe, first as Power Spot ambushes before segueing into normal encounters. These Shadows are dangerous, as they are the first enemies the party encounters with access to Hama and Mudo skills. It may also poison the party with Poison Breath. When defeated, it may drop Butterfly Piece and Butterfly Wing. Butterfly Piece is used to create the Breaker for Teddie, and the Safety Helmet accessory. Butterfly Wing is used to create the Battle Leotard female armor.

Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth

Whimsical Papillon appears in Areas 2 and 3 of the second Theater, Junessic Land. When defeated, it may drop Papillon Scales and Papillon Crystal. Papillon Scales is used to create the Particle Saber for Akechi, the Shooting Star for Morgana, and Delta Knuckles for Akihiko and Makoto. Papillon Crystal is used to create the Bomber Slingshot for Morgana, the Bone Sword for Junpei and the P4 hero, the Origin Stone for Kanji, and the Grassland Scarf for Morgana.
