Wheel of Fortune is an enemy-exclusive skill.
Effect[]
In Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Wheel of Fortune prevents all foes from changing their Personas for eight turns. It is one of Nyarlathotep's signature skills and is only used in his second form or his "Faceless God" form in the additional scenario.
In Persona 3, Wheel of Fortune is used exclusively by Arcana Fortune. When used, it spins a roulette wheel. When the roulette stops, either all allies or all foes will experience a random effect. Red panels benefit the enemy party, while blue panels benefit the allied party. There are several roulettes used depending on Arcana Fortune's HP and if Arcana Strength is present on the enemy party:
- Damage wheel - Inflict small/moderate/heavy Almighty damage or heal 100HP
- Ailment wheel - Inflict Fear, Confusion, Distress or Rage
- Stat change wheel - Matarukaja, Marakukaja, Matarunda or Marakunda
- Rigged wheel - Heavy Almighty damage on self or Moderate Almighty damage on all foes. The red panel is noticeably larger than the blue one.
Unlike most bosses, Arcana Fortune can be affected by status conditions listed on the Roulette if one successfully hits a blue panel containing one. This makes it one of the very few bosses that can be killed instantly by Ghastly Wail. Arcana Strength is also affected in the same way as its partner.
In Persona 3 Reload, the panels on the Wheel of Fortune now affect all on-field units, and blue represents a negative effect (they will still not affect Arcana Fortune so long as Arcana Strength is on the battlefield). The player also now no longer has control over the roulette; instead, Arcana fortune decides the effects on a fixed pattern. There are also only two roulettes: a normal one and a rigged one. The rigged one will always activate when Arcana Fortune is near-death.
- Normal wheel: 100 damage, 300 damage, increase damage of physical attacks, increase damage of magical attacks, Matarukaja, Marakunda, Marakukaja, Masukunda, Masukukaja.
- Rigged wheel: The wheel is programmed to always hit the smaller panel, which does nothing combat-wise.

Trivia[]
- The Nyx Avatar uses this attack against Makoto Yuki in Persona 3 The Movie. However, this enemy cannot use it during the game proper.
- In Persona 3 Reload, the rigged wheel will always land on the smaller panel, which is a grim reaper icon that does nothing. This foreshadows Shinjiro's death directly after the fight.
