Warning Shot is a Confidant ability unlocked by ranking up Shinya Oda's Confidant to Rank 3. Once unlocked, during a Hold Up, the protagonist can fire a warning shoot at a Shadow that can be negotiated with to scare it, which randomly results in:

• The Shadow remembers its origin and agrees to become a mask for the protagonist. All other Shadows disappear.
• The Shadow hands over one of its items and retreats from battle. All other Shadows disappear.
• The Shadow retreats from battle. All other Shadows disappear.
• The Shadow is angered and immediately recovers from Down along with all other Shadows. It then either:
  • gains a bonus action.
  • successfully summons a new Shadow, who immediately gain a bonus action. The summoned Shadow is usually of the same kind with a Shadow previously slain in the same battle.
  • unsuccessfully summons a new Shadow, wasting its bonus action.

The shots consume one of the protagonist's bullet with each use, and thus, are unusable when he has run out of ammo.

Warning Shot is not available during negotiations started by Shadows begging for mercy.
