History
The Knight of Wands, or Wand Knight, is based on the tarot cards from the minor arcana, Suit of Wands. The knight on a quest, this man traditionally signifies travel and progress. It also refers to new ideas and inventions. The knight is intelligent and knowledgeable, yet ready for battle and full of fire. Letting ones intuition take over to lead one forward. The horse represents instinct. Express ones thoughts, while never considering losses or having expectations.
The Suit of Wands deals with the spiritual level of consciousness and mirror what is important to you at the core of your being. They address what makes you tick – your personality, ego, enthusiasm, self-concept, and personal energy, both internal and external. The negative aspects include illusion, egotistical behavior, impulsiveness, a lack of direction or purpose, or feeling meaningless.
