Utai-gaikotsu is a demon in the series.

History

In Japanese lore, a Utai-gaikotsu is a monster born when the negative energy of a person who was subject to a particularly violent murder possesses the remains of that person's skull. The Utai-gaikotsu then seeks revenge on its killer by making up a song detailing its death, and singing it repeatedly to either drive its killer insane or alert others to what happened to it.

Utai-Gaikotsu was implemented during the 2015 Halloween event. They have an incredibly powerful boost feature for suicide affinity skills.

Utai-gaikotusu begin appearing in Dark Kasumidai as a random encounter. They will later appear in the Shipbuilding Facility and Dark Fukagawa-Cho.

A pair of Utai-gaikotsi will appear in Episode 7, having erected a barrier in order to trap Raidou and prevent him from reaching their master, Hitokotonusi, who has placed a curse on an admiral of the Japanese navy. Once Raidou destroys a seal talisman they have placed to keep the trap active, they will attack him along with a group of Turdak demons.
