History[]
Umr-At-Tawil, which means “The Most Ancient and Prolonged of Life,” also said as Tawil At-U'mr or Tawil-at'Umr, is described as an avatar of Yog Sothoth in the story “Through the Gates of the Silver Key.” He traverse over the timeless halls beyond the first Gate of the Silver Key and the strange "Ancient Ones" that dwell there.
He is described as a heavily cloaked silhouette of a vaguely humanoid figure behind a strange, shimmering veil, with no organs or features discernible beneath his garb. He is one of very few benign Lovecraftian Great Old Ones who does not cause insanity in those who view him.

Profile[]
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment[]
Lieutenant General Zula describes Umr At Tawil as the avatar of an entity which personifies the boundaries inside the Collective Unconsciousness, which guards the Ultimate Gate leading to Kadath Mandala or Dreamlands of the unconscious. He has permitted Chandraputra to use the Ultimate Gate, but he has decided not to let the party pass. Zula further explains though some might attempt to sneak around behind his back, there are none who can challenge him; those who try to trespass the Ultimate Gate usually would suffer the unfortunate fate of being sent to an unknown dimension.
After Umr-At-Tawil's defeat, he disperses away. He drops the Trapezohedron of Knowledge which belongs to Shiori Miyashiro. Zula hurries the party to pick it up and move on before the avatar returns more powerful than before. When the party asks why is it not dead, Zula reiterates that Umr-At-Tawil is avatar of the boundary within the collective unconsciousness, the metaphorical lines which separate individual consciousness with the collective. If he did not exist, then individual entities would not have existed.
If the party attempts to use Armageddon on Umr-At-Tawil, he will block the attack and instantly retaliate with Armageddon R as soon as he gets a turn.
