Tattooed Man is a recurring demon in the series.

History

Tattooed Man is based on classical yakuza. Mainly because of his clothing, his weapon and the famous body-covering tattoos that they use. In Japan, tattoos are engraved as the clear signs of a criminal or a punk to a lesser degree.

Design

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner

Kaneko's design for Tattooed Man draws inspiration from Ken Takakura's appearance in Japanese Yakuza movies, in particular the 1966 film Brutal Tales of Chivalry 2: The Chinese Lion and Peony Tattoo, an image of which can be seen here.

Tattooed Man can be found in Shinjuku. He can teach Flynn the Taunt, Fatal Sword and Heat Wave skills through his Demon Whisper.

Prisoner Yokota will summon Tattooed Man as one of his demons in the first round of the "Hunter Tournament Finals" Challenge Quest.

Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse

Tattooed Man can be found in Kasumigaseki. He can teach the Taunt, Fatal Sword and Heat Wave skills through his Demon Whisper. Tattooed Man benefits from learning Physical attack skills.
