Tarukaja (タルカジャ*)? / (タル・カジャ*)? is a support skill.
Effect[]
This topic is in need of research for the following reasons: * Soul Hackers 2 multipliers (includes Rakunda, Tarunda and Rakukaja, as well as how those multipliers stack.) * Are buffs and debuffs timer-based in Persona 3? Try both a buff and a debuff for safety. This can be discussed on the article's talk page. |
In the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, barring V, Tarukaja raises the physical attack power of the caster's team by one stage and lasts until either the battle ends, the buffed ally is killed or the buff is negated by a buff removal skill such as Dekaja.
In Shin Megami Tensei NINE, Tarukaja doubles the physical attack power of one ally for one turn.
In Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE, Tarukaja temporarily increases the Close-Range and Long-Range attack power of one ally by one stage.
In Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, the buff is permanent and can stack up to 4 ranks. The attack buff and the attack debuff (Tarunda) are separate variables, so although they stack with one-another and can neutralize each-other's effects, they still can only be used 4 times each unless one of the stats is reset with Dekunda or Dekaja.
In Shin Megami Tensei IV, Tarukaja increases the allying party's attack power by 1 rank, and stacks up to 3 ranks. Each rank increases the user's attack power by 20%, with the maximum reaching 60%. It stacks multiplicatively with other buffs, Rakunda included. (1.6*1.6=2.56).[1] It works similarly in Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse, though it only increases the damage of Phys and Gun attacks, per series tradition. The buff and debuff statuses are singular, rather than individual, so if the target's attack is decreased by 1 or more stages, Tarukaja will directly increase it without the need of Dekunda.
In Shin Megami Tensei V, Tarukaja increases the attack power (for both Physical and Magical attacks) of one ally by one stage for 3 turns. Buffing again will have it stack to 2 ranks max, and buffing each time resets the timer of the buff. On the first rank, the damage is increased by x1.2,[2] while on the second rank, it's x1.4. The effect stacks with other buffs via multiplication.
In Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2, Tarukaja raises the party's attack power by 20%. The effect lasts for 3 turns.
In Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army, Tarukaja raises the Phys attack of all allies for the duration of the battle.
In Soul Hackers 2, Rakukaja raises the attack power of all allies. The effect doesn't stack in ranks, and normally lasts 3 turns, but it can be extended to 4 or 5 with Mistiques.[3] Casting the skill again will replenish the timer.
In the Persona 2 duology, Tarukaja increases the physical attack power of one ally.
In Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5, Tarukaja increases the attack power of one ally for 3 turns:
- In Persona 3 and Persona 4, the damage multiplier is approximately x1.5. If stacked with Rakunda on the target, the damage is doubled (50%+50%);
- In Persona 5, user's attack is increased by x1.4.[4] It most likely stacks multiplicatively with Rakunda, essentially granting a result of x1.96. Casting the same skill again will extend the timer by 3 additional turns, up to a maximum of 15. The user's timer goes down on the turn they have cast the buff on themselves. Tarunda directly cancels out the user's attack buff, regardless of the remaining duration.
In Persona 5 Strikers, Tarukaja lasts for a certain period of time. Under default circumstances, it lasts 50 seconds.
In Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, Tarukaja increases the Offense of the party by about x1.5 for 3 rounds. Casting it while the buff is already active will refresh the timer.
