Where did the rumor about the Lady in Black being Paimon come from?
Not that I disagree, it's intriguing. Just never heard anything about it.

I heard of the rumor four years ago on a Nocturne board. Apparently the theory was made by Ian Kelly, a FAQ writer/translator, and the originator of the popular "Hijiri is Aleph" theory.

Odd idea but...[]
Could the Lady in Black be based off the song Lady in Black by Uriah Heep?
I wouldn't normally think so but Kazuma Kaneko has gone on record to say that Red hot chili peppers was an influence for him in making Nocturne so I don't see why "Lady in Black" couldn't be. Heck, the lyrics fit what happened in the game, though vaguely...

EDIT: Just did more digging and I'm surprised that this hasn't come-up before...
Is it possible that the Lady in Black of Nocturne is actually the Trinity Goddess Morrigan?
In the story of Cu Chaliann, Morrigan appears to him as a young woman to give him love and aid. Morrigan later appears as an old woman to spite him (Cu rejected her). Morrigan is widely known for being able to turn into a raven. It signifies death. In the TDE ending, you see Lucifer and the Lady in Black disappear and two black birds fly towards the next Kagutsuchi. Morrigan is often depicted with red hair but is known in some stories to have black hair. Her Badb form causes armies to stir for battle (it's possible she and Lucifer turned into Badb Catha to do this since after you see the Raven's fly, you see the Demifiend's eyes go red).
This is info I just found to be of interest and can see the correlation with Nocturne's depictions of the Lady in Black.

another theory[]
the lady in black could also be lilith, black hair, lips and really close to lucifer. if she does resemble yuko then it would be similiair to Lilith in SMT4 where she looks like gabby. Lilith is also a really important figure in the main series but oddly enough doesn´t appear in nocturne.
she talks to the player in order to charm him and is also known as a night bird so she would also fit some of the criterias that Paimon and Morrigan have188.193.88.18 19:31, July 25, 2015 (UTC)
Well, Lilith is in the game as a regular demon. Usually if demons are significant characters the don't also appear as regular demons in the same game. Kintrex (talk) 02:19, March 16, 2016 (UTC)
You meet Lilith in the last Kalpa, if I recall correctly. So, it doesn't seem to be the Lady in Black. The Truthful Knight (talk) 21:25, December 13, 2016 (UTC)
