Take Tokyo Tower (東京タワーを頂きます, Tōkyō tawā o itadakimasu)? was a special livestream event hosted in Japanese on May 5th, 2016, 7pm GMT. It was then when the final release date for Persona 5 was revealed.
Profile[]
The event was promoted weeks before the stream would start. No information was disclosed, aside from another Persona 5 website, containing only a countdown towards the day of the event. Eventually, the theme of the event was unveiled, based around the Phantom (also known as the game's protagonist) planning to take Tokyo Tower.
On the day of the event, in collaboration with the real-life Tokyo Tower staff, the protagonist scaled the tower from the side (with Morgana recording and commentating), and once he reached the top, the tower was lit in red.[1][2]
During the event, it was also announced that the game would be promoted during E3 2016 next month.
Trivia[]
- The date of the event was May 5th, or "5/5", referencing Persona 5.
