Susanoo, also spelled as Susano-o, known as the powerful storm of Summer, is the Shinto god of the sea and storms and the brother of Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, and Tsukuyomi, the god of the moon. All three were spawned from Izanagi when he washed his face clean of the pollutants of Yomi, the underworld. Amaterasu was born when Izanagi washed out his left eye, Tsukuyomi was born from the washing of the right eye and Susanoo from the washing of the nose.
Despite being siblings, there is long-standing rivalry between Susanoo and his sister. One account details that when he was to leave Takamagahara by orders of Izanagi, he went to bid his sister goodbye. Amaterasu was suspicious, but when Susanoo proposed a challenge to prove his sincerity, she accepted. Each of them took an object of the other's and from it birthed gods and goddesses. Both Susanoo and Amaterasu declared that the male deities were theirs, and that the three goddesses were from the other. In consequence, both Kami started bickering which ended with Susano wreaking havoc in his sister's rice fields, defecating in her palace and killing one of her weaving maidens. A furious Amaterasu in response hid inside the Ama-no-Iwato ("Heavenly Rock Cave"), plunging the Japanese world into total darkness.
Though she was persuaded to leave the cave, Susanoo was punished by being banished from Takamagahara. He descended to the province of Izumo, where he met an elderly couple who told him that seven of their daughters had been devoured by the eight-headed dragonYamata no Orochi and it was nearing time for their eighth, Kushinada-Hime. Sympathizing with their plight, Susanoo hid Kushinada-Hime by transforming her into a comb, which he placed in his hair. He then made the serpent drunk on strong sake and then killed it as it lay in a drunken stupor. From within the serpent's tail Susanoo discovered the sword Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi or the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, which he then presented to Amaterasu as a reconciliatory gift.
The protagonist, Asuka Kita, is the reincarnation of Susano-o. Asuka sometimes had dreams, when he saw himself as Yumiko's and Akemi's son, besides that, he saw himself as Susano-o. Later in the story, when he is close to the limit of his feelings and anger, he uses Susano-o's power.

During battle, he will constantly summon two Obariyon and a Pyro Jack as support. After the battle, he will relinquish the Fire Prism to Raidou.

Instead of a disco uniform of Jiraiya, it is replaced with a blue long-sleeved jumpsuit with a yellow belt, red gloves and red boots. His head is more shiny and the ears, shurikens on his face, and other details are gone and replaced by a pair of yellow glasses or goggles with blue lenses. Trivia[]
Regardless of epithets, Susano-o is the only Persona acting as the signature and strictly ultimate Persona for three different party members in the Persona series (1: Masao Inaba; 4: Yosuke Hanamura; 5: Yusuke Kitagawa (as Kamu Susano-o)). This record is barely caught up by Hermes-Mercurius (if the two are treated as the same entity) who is either initial or ultimate Persona for three different party members in the series.
While Susano-o is not in Persona 5, Susano-o is present in a leaked 2015 beta build of the game.
