Gloom (or Depress) | Afflicted demons receive the following effects:

Zenith | Afflicted demons receive the following effects:
If the target demon is inflicted with Gloom, applying this will revert it to a neutral state. |
Attribute Affinity Down | Reduces elemental resistance of a specified element down by a number of levels.
A demon may be afflicted with multiple Attribute Affinity Down of different elements simultaneously. Stacks with repeated applications, until the target is at Level 1 elemental resistance. Elemental resistance levels are classified as follows:
This effect does not work in Democalype game mode. |
Attribute Affinity Reinforcement | For every level of Attribute Affinity Reinforcement applied, cancel 1 level of every Attribute Affinity Down effect the targeted demon is afflicted with.
If the target demon is not afflicted with any Attribute Affinity Down effect, adds the specified level of Attribute Affinity Reinforcement as a status effect instead. (Stacks up to 3 levels.) All incoming Attribute Affinity Down effects will be canceled out with equal/as much as possible levels of Attribute Affinity Reinforcement. This effect does not work in Democalype game mode. |
Fortify | Adds the specified levels of Fortify to the target demon, up to 5.
For every level of Fortify, +20% to the demon's max HP. Target also gains equal amounts of HP to match. Applying levels of Fortify to a demon afflicted with levels of Decay will cancel both effects out in equal amounts. Any levels of Fortify remaining after cancelation is then applied normally. |
Decay | Adds the specified levels of Decay to the target demon, up to 5.
For every level of Decay, -20% to the demon's max HP (down to a minimum of 1 HP). Any excess HP is lost. Applying levels of Decay to a demon afflicted with levels of Fortify will cancel both effects out in equal amounts. Any levels of Decay remaining after cancelation is then applied normally. |
Count-based Status Effects[]
Count-based status effects add varying levels of the status effect to the target demon, which allows them to stack upon repeated applications. Depending on the levels, these status effects can exhibit different effects.
Attribute Affinity Down & Reinforcement[]
Status | Effect |
---|---|
Attribute Affinity Down | Adds the specified levels of Attribute Affinity Down of the specified element to the target demon, up to 3 levels.
For every level of Attribute Affinity Down of an element, elemental resistance tier is reduced by 1, down to Tier 1. Elemental resistance tiers are classified as follows; Tier 4: Null, Drain, Repel; Tier 3: Resist; Tier 2: Neutral; Tier 1: Weak. This effect does not work in Democalypse game mode. |
Attribute Affinity Reinforcement | Adds the specified level of Attribute Affinity Reinforcement to the target demon, up to 3 levels.
This effect does not work in Democalypse game mode. |
Interaction[]
- Let X be the set of Attribute Affinity Down levels for every element, and max(X) be the highest Attribute Affinity Down level in that set.
- If Y levels of Attribute Affinity Reinforcement is applied to a demon with levels of Attribute Affinity Down levels equal to X, the result depends on Z = max(X) - Y.
- If Z is non-negative, all Attribute Affinity Down levels of the demon becomes max(X - Y, 0).
- If Z is negative, remove all levels of Attribute Affinity Down, and add |Z| levels of Attribute Affinity Reinforcement to the demon instead.
- If a move is to inflict levels of Attribute Affinity Down effects equal to X on a demon with Y levels of Attribute Affinitiy Reinforcement, the result depends on Z = Y - max(X).
- If Z is non-negative, no levels of Attribute Affinity Down is applied, and the level of Attribute Affinity Reinforcement becomes equal to Z.
- If Z is negative, remove all levels of Attribute Affinity Reinforcement, then apply levels of Attribute Affinity Down equal to min(X - Y, 0).
Fortify & Decay[]
Status | Effect |
---|---|
Fortify | Adds the specified levels to the Fortify/Decay gauge to the target demon. |
Decay | Subtracts the specified levels to the Fortify/Decay gauge to the target demon. |

Trivia[]
- Ailment-specific cleanse skills (e.g. Posumudi), and items (e.g. Dis-Poison) also grants the target additional resistance to that specific ailment by 30%. This bonus resistance is removed when a wave is cleared in PvE battles.
- Recovery from ailments is based on percentage chances, which is different for each ailment.
- Bind and Charm has a 25% chance of recovery at the very beginning, which eventually accumulates into a guaranteed recovery on turn 4 and onwards.
- Mute has the lowest chance of recovery in comparison to the other two action-restricting ailments, initiating at 0% (one guaranteed turn of Mute) and accumulating only up to 75% after 4 turns and onwards.
- Poison is guaranteed for 2 turns before accumulating a recovery rate of up to 50% on turn 4 and onwards.
- Weak and Curse is guaranteed for 2 and 3 turns respectively, before a guaranteed recovery afterwards.
- Recovery skills increase the chance of recovery by adding its percentage to the natural recovery rate of the ailments. Likewise, certain skills can also decrease the chance of recovery in the same way.
- All Repel statuses cannot be inflicted on the same demon - the older Repel effect will be overridden by the one cast most recently instead.
- Charge and Concentrate cannot be inflicted on the same demon - the older effect will be overridden by the other one cast most recently instead.
- Repel Statuses do not work against Pierce effects. They also do not work in conjunction with Repel Pierce (Alilat), War Aid (Atavaka), and False God (Demiurge)
- In PvE battles where enemies arrive in waves, there are some unique properties of status changes that is not observed in PvP as follows:
- The turn counter for Repel Statuses & Null Mortal & Barrier will not count down if the player's team manages to go first and clear a wave within their turn, meaning that these statuses, which normally lasts for 1 turn, can be extended to last until the final wave.
- Concentrate / Charge / Might statuses will be carried over to the next wave in PvE battles should they not be used up after a wave is cleared.
- Ward brands set will reapply the Barrier status at the beginning of a new wave.
- Might status is not removed if the affected demon missed every hit of its next Physical attack. (e.g. missing every single hit in a party-wide attack) However, it will still be removed if said demon hits into Null / Repel / Drain resistances.
- Charge / Concentrate status is removed regardless of whether the next attack is successful or not.
- If demons inflicted with Repel statuses are targeted by random-target multi-hit attacks, Repel statuses will be able to protect said demons for as long as the attack lasts. (e.g. All hits of Hellfire without Fire Pierce effect will be blocked off by Repel Magic, even if it hits the same demon multiple times.)
- Null Mortal status will not prevent the demon from being downed through damage.
- Special statuses cannot be removed with ailment cleansing skills or prevented by Barrier effect.
- You're Next status also stays in effect permanently even if the afflicted demon is not killed by Reiko Kashima again after revival.
