Soul Hackers 2: Summoners Guide (『ソウルハッカーズ2』サマナーズガイド*)? is an ongoing web-series that likely serves to guide players through the mechanics of Soul Hackers 2, similarly to Morgana's Report and Shin Megami Tensei V News. The series will be hosted by Ringo.

Profile[]

The volumes are irregularly scheduled, with a matching time of release on 12:15pm JST. It is scheduled as such to cater to the release time of Soul Hackers 2 Daily Ringo's Demon Prediction. As the schedule for the latter has been shifted, starting from volume 4, Summoners Guide would be scheduled on 12pm JST.

The series is captioned in English, Korean, Traditional and Simplified Chinese.

Vol.1[]

The first volume arrived on March 29th, 2022, and introduced the basics behind fighting as a Devil Summoner, elaborating on weaknesses, COMPs, Sabbath, as well as Tandem and Commander Skills. The segment also explained Arrow's basic backstory and relationships. However, most of Arrow's background was already listed on the Japanese website.

Vol.2[]

Volume 2 would arrive nearly a month later on April 26th, going over the setting of the game with the subject of the Covenant and the Iron Mask, followed up by Milady's backstory and relationships.

The episode mainly looks into dungeon exploration. Enemy Symbols, if ambushed with Ringo's sword, will be knocked away and Ringo can avoid them as to not engage in combat. If the enemy spots and catches Ringo, the enemy faction will go first with a Surprise Attack, but if Ringo attacks knocked down enemies, they'll begin with a Bonus Attack.

When first visiting a dungeon, Ringo will send out her demons on a Demon Recon, and they can find items, heal or even introduce other demons upon reunion. If Ringo meets new demons that way, she'll negotiate with them to recruit them.

The ability to equip demons is also covered, as they serve to support the party in increasing their stats and letting them use their skills.

The video would end with the announcement of an invite-only Premiere Hand-on Event in Tokyo that would take place on June 4th and June 5th.

Vol.3[]

Volume 3 was published over 2 weeks later on May 12th. It went over the setting around the organizations Yatagarasu and the Phantom Society, as well as the public facilities dedicated to Summoners and their background. The subject of setting was also wrapped up with covering Saizo, his personality, relationships and playstyle.

On gameplay, demon fusion and growth was examined. Multiple criteria can be set before commmencing fusion, such as filtering the resultant race, increased stats, skill types, lowest level. Fusions can also be recommended in advance.

Post fusion, if a demon levels up so it learns all of its skills, it will give a gift as a token of appreciation. Some items that can be gifted are Mistiques, which can be equipped on the party's COMPs, granting affinity-based effects such as increasing power and reducing SP cost.

Vol.4[]

Volume 4 revolved around Ringo and Figue's relationships, as well as progression elements, or the game's hub and overworld. The COMP Smith, Zafiro and Bar Heidrun were elaborated on, as well as Hangout Events and the Soul Level. Soul Levels can be increased during hangout events, as well as while progressing the story, where Ringo might have dialogue options that only appeal to one of her party members, and it can be manually chosen who one wants to deepen their mutual understanding with.

Vol.5[]

Volume 5 goes into several locations: the Axis, which is Aion's base, and the side dungeon the Soul Matrix. The Soul Matrix consists of several separate dungeons that represent Arrow, Milady and Saizo's memories, and increasing each respective character's Soul Level will expand the dungeon deeper, unlocking more memories of their past.

These dungeons also have powerful enemies. Their enemy symbol can only be knocked back, but cannot be disarmed.

Vol.6[]

Volume 6 examined the Safe House and meals mechanics. It also introduced Delamancha and Mansei Realm, alongside their respective retailers Yume and Yoyojo.

Additionally, New Game Plus allows for personalization of what can be carried to subsequent plays, separated by categories, which include character levels, COMP customization, map memory, money/Mistiques, items and the demon compendum. Certain social events and requests also get unlocked in NG+.

The difficulties are Easy, Normal and Hard, with planned free DLC on launch day to introduce Very Hard difficulty.
