Sogne is an ice dragon known as one of the strongest of such creatures known to man. It can be contained and controlled by a divine relic known as the Frost Sceptre, whose original owner has long passed away. While Sogne itself was once a powerful, natural threat, the sceptre controlling it was excavated by the kingdom, and controlling it became possible. It was then kept inside the Mage Academy alongside the Frost Sceptre for research. When Forden ordered the closure of the Mage Academy by force, Saintess Rella used the Frost Sceptre to slow down the Monk Army, preventing them from killing the surviving teachers and students and allowing them to evacuate to Altabury Heights, and has kept the sceptre for herself since then. At the same time, the dragon made both the Monk Army and State Army suffer from devastating losses when they tried to improperly destroy the divine relic containing it, driving it into a violent rampage.
When the party confronts Rella as the true culprit of the curse, she summons the creature from a relic to gauge their own strength. Throughout the battle, Rella will cover its sole weakness to fire perfectly and might buff it if the party does not dispel the barrier. She will heal the dragon using all of her magic reserves fully once when its HP is fully depleted, which prevents her from using any of her other skills and makes the dragon easier to kill. Once the party slays it, Rella confesses to the party her actual role behind the prince's curse before publicly exposing Sanctifex Forden's crimes, effectively defanging the church politically. She then commits suicide to free the prince from the curse.
Defeating Sogne the Icebound clears the quest "Save the Prince from Death's Curse," which is unlocked at the start of the game.

- Sogne the Icebound is accompanied by Rella during the fight. She is considered a proper enemy object that has stats and affinities coded in, but cannot be targeted. For a list of skills that Rella can use, see here.
- If Sogne's HP is fully depleted for the first time, Rella will heal it by 7,000 HP. Her skills are no longer used after she fully heals the Dragon once.
- Sogne will only use Draconic Wrath after it has been healed by Rella.

Trivia[]
- Sogne the Icebound cannot be killed in a single attack. Trying to do so will trigger the event where Rella fully heals it.
