This article covers information about the StrengthSocial Link, Kou Ichijo, including events featured in Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden. This Social Link is shared with Daisuke Nagase, collectively known as Fellow Athletes. Who the protagonist bonds with depends on whether he joins the Basketball Team (Kou) or the Soccer Team (Daisuke).
The protagonist can start Kou's Social Link as early as April 19th by heading to the first floor of the Classroom Building at the emergency exit in Yasogami High and choosing the Basketball Team. The protagonist can get an explanation of the different clubs first by talking to Mr. Mooroka in the Faculty Office.
Kou gives the protagonist the Letter to Kou when the Social Link is maxed, which enables the fusion of Zaou-Gongen.
"Just the other day I was greeting people at one of those high society gatherings. Can you imagine? Me, at one of those things?"

In Persona 4 Golden, starting on 4/19, the protagonist can sneak out at night when Ryotaro Dojima is not home and spend time with Social Links in the Central Shopping District. Since time is limited in the evening, the Social Link cannot advance. However, during the day, it can then be progressed to the next rank. The protagonist will also receive an item.
