This article covers information about the Hermit Social Link, Fox, including events and skills featured in Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden.
The protagonist automatically begins the Fox's Social Link on May 5th. The Fox is available every day of the week in the afternoon after completing ema requests given by it at the Shrine. Taking up a wish does not consume the whole day, but reporting a successful wish-granting session to the Fox will.
The Fox gives the protagonist a Gratitude Ema when the Social Link is maxed, which enables the fusion of Ongyo-Ki.

- Once "The Samegawa Guardian" quest has been finished, the protagonist needs max rank Understanding (Saintly). The protagonist must then visit the Fox to complete the Social Link.
- The deadline to obtain the sticker from Nanako required to progress the Hermit Social Link to Rank 5 is November 3rd, since Nanako will not be available to interact with after this due to plot events. However, checking the refrigerator at night after November 6th will reveal that Nanako left a bag inside with the sticker in it.

| Rank 9.5 | 15 | The Shichiri Beach Guardian | Unlock Shichiri Beach | After unlocking Shichiri Beach, attempt to fish. You will be informed that your fishing rod is not sufficient. Return to the Riverbank and talk to the old man, who will ask to see a River Guardian in exchange for the Angler Set. Ask about bait for the Guardian so that you can catch Inaba Jewel Beetles from the Shrine at night. The River Guardian only bites on that bug on rainy days. Once the River Guardian is caught, talk to the old man to obtain the Angler's Set that lets you fish at Shichiri Beach; ask him about bait for the Sea Guardian to be able to catch Genji Beetles at the Shrine. Then, after obtaining a Genji Beetle (caught at night or bought from Tanaka's Amazing Commodities on 8/22), fish at the beach to catch the Sea Guardian. It shows up more often if it's raining or snowing. |
- Once "The Shichiri Beach Guardian" quest has been finished, the protagonist needs max rank Expression. The protagonist must then visit the Fox to complete the Social Link.
