Effect[]
Shin Megami Tensei V[]
This topic is in need of research for the following reason: * How does Sleep interact with multi-hit skills? Actually I want to know if the ailment wears off at the end of the attack, and if the hit rate applies to all of the individual attacks. Additionally, I'm curious if Sleep maximizes the number of hits possible. This can be discussed on the article's talk page. |
Combatants afflicted with Sleep will be unable to act should the ailment be active during their turn. Additionally, their evasion is nullified, and attacking them will instantly wear off the attack.
If the combatant nullifies or drains the attack, they won't be woken up because they've technically not taken damage.
If all enemies are afflicted with Sleep, the player can escape with a 100% chance of success.
Soul Hackers 2[]
Asleep combatants will be unable to act, but will recover a bit of HP and MP every turn. They will take increased damage to Physical, Gunfire skills and Sabbaths.
Persona 5 / Royal[]
This article is about the combat ailment. For information on sleeping enemies in dungeons, see Hypno Mist. |
This topic is in need of research for the following reason: * See if P5R's reflection glitch applies in P5 This can be discussed on the article's talk page. |
Combatants inflicted with Sleep are unable to act nor evade attacks.[1] Each turn skipped, they recover 10% of their MAX HP and MAX SP (rounding down.) Because of this, if either stat is less than 10 (like Crypt-dwelling Pyromaniac's MAX SP) they will not recover anything. Shadows who can take multiple actions in one turn will only recover HP and SP on the first action.
Combatants inflicted with Sleep are vulnerable to Technical damage from any attack but will also be woken up by it. A Multi-hit skill is counted as one attack and Technical is applied for all the hits before the ailment is removed at the end of the attack. On the other hand, only the first hit from a Ranged Attack can get Technical. Draining skills, such as Life Drain, cannot deal Technical damage and cannot remove Sleep from the target.
In Persona 5 Royal, if a combatant simultaneously Downs an enemy and gets Asleep (e.g. from a reflected Dormin Rush), they will still get a One More but Sleep prevents the combatant from taking an action with it. However, due to a glitch, if this attack happens after a Baton Pass, the combatant will be able to act freely during the One More even while being Asleep. In either case, an irregular Hold Up will be initiated if all enemies are Downed after this.
Sleeping Shadows cannot be negotiated with.

Resist[]
Shin Megami Tensei V / Vengeance[]
Certain demons, bosses and playable ones alike, innately are weak to, resist or even null sleep, and are as such tied to their respective Essence. Being weak or negating an attempt to poison a certain demon can affect either side's Press Turn Icons. Unlike with elemental affinities, ailment affinities cannot be altered with passive skills.
The Nahobino can take on a demon's affinity chart via Essence fusion, including that demon's affinity to how they deal with sleep.
