History[]
Siegfried is the dragon-slaying hero of the medieval German epic Das Nibelungenlied, most widely known due to its adaptation by Richard Wagner into a series of four operas, Der Ring des Nibelungen. The character of Siegfried and much of the plot of the medieval German epic originate from earlier Norse sagas, where the character is known as Sigurd.
Sigurd was requested to slay Fafnir by Regin, his foster parent and guardian. Regin was the brother of Otr and Fafnir and son of Hreidmar. Otr was killed by the Aesir after they mistook him for an otter, and as compensation had his body stuffed with gold. Fafnir then killed Hreidmar and stole the "Otr's Gold," and to better guard it, turned himself into a dragon.
Sigurd met Odin on his way, who advised the hero to dig trenches to drain the dragon's blood, which apparently gave him invulnerability. He killed Fafnir when the dragon walked over the trench, and bathed himself in the blood. However, a leaf had fallen and stuck itself on his shoulder. When he drank some of the blood, he understood the language of the birds and learned that Regin was plotting his death. As retaliation, he killed Regin first. Despite gaining the gold, however, it brought him no happiness.
Siegfried appears as a demon of the Famed race, which can be obtained through fusion accidents once the appropriate level is obtained. There is also a set of armor sold in a special shop of Ginza based on his armor, called the Nibelungen, divided in Helm, Legwear and Chest, which allows Flynn to reflect Physical attacks and null Death, at the cost of a weakness to Gun attacks.
Shin Megami Tensei V / Vengeance[]
Siegfried can be found in Taito speaking with two Fafnirs, working under Odin. Siegfried will mistake the protagonist for a fan of his and will ask him a favor, initiating the "Maker of Myth" sub-quest, in which the Nahobino has to defeat a Garuda that has been surveilling the skies for the Indian Branch of Bethel. The beast's defeat would cause confusion among the branch and will allow the Nordic Branch to regroup.
Once Garuda is slain and its defeat reported, Siegfried will compliment the protagonist and will hope to see him again in Valhalla.

Persona 3 Reload[]
Siegfried is the seventh Persona of the Strength Arcana. One of Elizabeth'srequests entails the protagonist to show her a Siegfried with the skill Endure. This can be easily accomplished by fusing Mada and Leanan Sidhe together to get a Kaiwan with the Endure skill, then use that Persona and fuse it with Rangda to get Siegfried with Endure. He can perform the Scarlet Havoc Theurgy with Mithras.
Persona 3 The Movie[]
Siegfried was summoned to finish off Arcana Hanged Man. It was also summoned in the final fight for a split second.

His level was buffed from 69 to 84, he now resists Gun skills and blocks Electricity skills and he cannot learn Megaton Raid via level up anymore, with Brave Blade taking its place as well as Apt Pupil being added to his moves. When itemized through Electric Chair execution, Siegfried will now yield the Vorpal Blade Beltaccessory, which allows the wearer to use Vorpal Blade. During a fusion alarm, Siegfried will yield the Brave Belt accessory instead, which allows the wearer to use Brave Blade.
A Siegfried known as the "Dragon-slaying Genius," defends the corridor to the treasure chamber of Maruki's Palace. He is the last obstacle in its exploration, as well as the last mid-boss in the game.
Persona 5 Strikers[]
Siegfried appears as a strong Shadow known as the Brilliant Dragonslayer ("Dragon Slaying Genius" in the Japanese version) in the Kyoto Jail during the request, "Dragon Slayer Enters the Fray." He will spend the fight applying Heat Riser to himself and following up with Physical attacks for massive damage, so bring at least one Persona or teammate with either Dekaja, Debilitate, or both. He will occasionally teleport out of sight, which breaks the lock-on, and reappear with a shockwave attack that stretches the whole arena. Jumping to one of the lamp posts as soon as he disappears will allow one to avoid the attack.
