Shin Megami Tensei V Demon Colosseum (真・女神転生V 悪魔コロシアム, Shin Megami Tensei V Akuma Koroshiamu)? was a web browser game to promote the succeeding release of Shin Megami Tensei V.

Profile[]

The game was first opened for play on August 16th 2021, and since then has been hosted on the Shin Megami Tensei V website.[1] It would run on the website until the end of the year, on December 31st, 7PM JST.

Gameplay[]

The game functioned like a lottery, where challengers (random demons from the game) are established by their level, which is randomized, with the highest-level challenger being the "champion," and challengers will need to receive a higher level than them to take their title.

After the user's attempt is over, generally they can try again by posting about it on Twitter (through the respective button on the bottom on the screen), but simply clicking it is enough to unlock the ability to try again. According to the tutorial, the more tweets the user shares, the easier it is to summon more powerful demons.

The pool of demons is based on the revealed demons from the Daily Demon series, and the level that can be received is based around the level of the current champion.

Milestones[]

On the main page, the number of victories (successive champions) is listed. There are also various milestones: if the number of successive champions reaches the next milestone, a gift will be rewarded on the noon of the next weekday. For limited physical gifts, winners are presumably randomly picked and contacted via DMs on Twitter, making it necessary to post the aforementioned tweets. However, these rewards can only be shipped within Japan.

The final milestone would be passed on November 6th, and would be confirmed on the 8th as the former date landed on a Saturday.

No. Milestone Reward Scope Date
1 1,000 Wallpapers[2] All Users 8/18[2]
2 15,000 Logo Keychain, Mask, 3 Logo Stickers 10 people 9/29[3]
3 25,000 Shin Megami Tensei V original round tumbler. 10 people 11/6

Special Prize[]

After the release of Shin Megami Tensei V, an additional, special prize would be awarded to a single user out of players that have played Demon Colosseum after SMT V's release. The reward was a Character Fine Graph signed by character designer Masayuki Doi. The eligibility period was specifically 2021/11/11 0:00 JST - 2021/12/31 19:00 JST.

Conclusion[]

Once the deadline was reached, the game would no longer be available to play. The demon that would triumph is the Nahobino, at Lv99999. There have been 35,604 total victorious demons overall.
