Shin Megami Tensei II: Jin of the Revival (真・女神転生 復活のジン) is a novel within the Shin Megami Tensei series. It's the sequel to Shin Megami Tensei: Jin in the Ruins.
It is the second of three novels in the Jin series, the other two being Shin Megami Tensei: Jin in the Ruins and Shin Megami Tensei if...: Jin of the Expanse. Yoru Yoshimura also worked on a Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne (真・女神転生III-NOCTURNE) novel, one of the four short stories in the anthology novel Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Anthology (真・女神転生III-NOCTURNE アンソロジー) and a short story published in the Monthly Dragon Magazine October 2001 Special Edition called Shin Megami Tensei: Distant Days of the Past (真・女神転生 遠く過ぎ去りし日々よ).

Shin Megami Tensei II: Jin of the Revival is an original novel written by Yoru Yoshimura with illustrations from Eiji Kaneda and a cover illustration from Kazuma Kaneko. It takes place in the Tokyo Millennium sometime before Shin Megami Tensei II, 30 years after the Great Flood in Shin Megami Tensei.
It follows Jin (The reincarnation of Jin from the first novel). He is son of the Junk Shop owner and starts having strange dreams of a girl who tells him that his hometown was destroyed by the gods. He later regains his memories of his previous life.
Aleph is featured on the cover, although his relation to the story is unknown.

Work began on the novel on August 14th, 2001 with an undecided title, two days before Yoshimura's birthday.
The manuscript of the novel was completed on September 23rd, five days after Yoshimura announced his short story "Shin Megami Tensei: Distant Days of the Past" will be included in the Monthly Dragon Magazine October 2001 Special Edition.
The manuscript was sent to Fujimi Shobo on October 10th with initial publishing scheduled for November but was pushed back to December to release alongside the PSX version of Shin Megami Tensei II, which was later postponed for March, though the novel's release date remained unchanged.
Proofreading was completed on November 26th.
Yoshimura received a sample copy of the novel on December 23rd, explaining how he's always happy to see his work take shape, but becomes depressed when he finds any mistakes in the final print. Which he did, on line 10 of page 296.
The novel was published by Fujimi Shobo in the Fujimi Mystery Bunko in December, 2001 for ¥560, ¥20 less than the first novel.
