School Clubs are major and important activities that help the protagonist unlock Social Links. School clubs in the series usually include sport clubs and art based clubs. However, the female protagonist may also join school committees such as the health or library committee which unlocks the Hermit Arcana Social Link.
The protagonist may sometimes have an option to pick which club they would like to join, some of these answers may change dialogue or characters. A few examples of these include the Track Team, Swim Team, and Fencing Team, all of which unlock Kazushi Miyamoto.
In Persona 3, the protagonists will have a sports club training from July 27th to August 1st for the tournament set in August 2nd.
Exclusive to Persona 4, if the protagonist picks between the Soccer or Basketball club, the Strength Arcana Social Link will change between Daisuke Nagase or Kou Ichijo, respectively.
Despite not being a school club, both Persona 3 protagonists will be asked to join the Student Council. Gameplay wise, they function almost exactly the same as a school club as the protagonist may unlock some Social Links and can only attend meetings during specific days.
Usually school clubs will be closed a week before exams.
Some of these Social links will unlock another Social Link from the same club. These may include Yuko Nishiwaki and Ai Ebihara.
In Persona 3 Reload, the protagonist no longer has an option to pick between school clubs and is instead forced to pick either only the Track Team and the Art Club.
Despite School clubs being absent in Persona 5, the protagonist may help characters such as Makoto Niijima with her Student Council duties during some ranks and Ryuji Sakamoto, who is separated from the school's Track Team.
In Persona 5: The Phantom X, the protagonist can participate both the soccer club and music club as part of daily activities to earn club experience at the day time.
