History

Sarutahiko-no-Ookami, or simply Sarutahiko (猿田彦大神), is a terrestrial god whose name means "Prince Of The Monkey Fields." He was the first to welcome the gods who descended to the earth, but refused to relinquish his territory to Ninigi-no-Mikoto until he was suggestively convinced to do so by Ame-no-Uzume, who later became his wife.

Shin Megami Tensei II

Sarutahiko is one of the Kunitsukami who were convinced to ally themselves with the Hebrew God to confront the Amatsukami, only to be betrayed and imprisoned inside a shrine in the Underworld. He is brainwashed and fought inside his shrine. Once defeated, the brainwashing will fade, restoring his free will. He holds a fragment of Masakado's corpse, in his case, the Left Arm.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne

Sarutahiko can be initially encountered in random battles in the Ikebukuro Tunnel. If being fought alone, he will mostly likely use Dragon Eye to increase his turn icons then spam Focus and Berserk which can prove deadly. If there is no nerve skill (stun or bind) to exploit his weakness, it may be better to negotiate with him instead of fighting.

One of the special conversations of the game will be triggered if Uzume is taken to a Sarutahiko in battle and having them talk. Sarutahiko will give Uzume an Emerald, a symbol of marriage.

Among the Jirae class demons who believe in peaceful coexistence, a Sarutahiko can be found and talked to after the Manikins finish restoring the northern structures of Asakusa. He will ask the Demi-fiend if he knows the person who hangs around the terminals. As a long-time Asakusa resident, he will advise the former to visit the person in question every so often.

Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE

Sarutahiko appears as the boss of the bronze level instance of Nakano Stone Site where Ame no Uzume appears as an NPC. When using items with his soulstone and Ame no Uzume's soulstone, players are capable of using the Sexy Dance skill.

Persona 5 / Royal

While not physically appearing in Persona 5 / Royal, a video game named Golfer Sarutahiko is named after this demon.
