Sarashina-hime is a demon in the series.

History

Sarashina-hime is the antagonist of the Kabuki and Noh play called Momijigari. The plot of the play features the warrior Taira no Koremochi while he is visiting the Togakushi-yama mountain to slay a certain demon that is disturbing the mountain´s deity, Hachiman. There he meets the Princess Sarashina, who is, in reality, the demon that he has come to slay Kijo. He manages to escape, thanks to his sword, as the demon dies while gnawing on a maple branch.
