Jodhpur boots are ankle boots originating in India in the 1920s, first worn by British polo riders. Wearing them soon became a trend in the West, being sold by American department store chains as early as 1927. They are named after Jodhpur, the second-largest city of the north-western Indian state of Rajasthan.
