Profile[]
Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army[]
Raidou Kuzunoha XL is the Devil Summoner who inherited the Raidou Kuzunoha title in the year 20XX. However, the Yatagarasu was disbanded, and the Raidou clan were reduced to being mere servants for the Center, with XL being a Temple Knight themselves. Unsatisfied with their own present, they traveled back through time to Taisho 20 in order to rewrite history by destroying Tokyo so the Amatsu cannot destroy the Kunitsu, and thus the events of Shin Megami Tensei, and by extension Shin Megami Tensei II, cannot happen. To this means, they first summoned Sukuna-Hikona and ordered him to kill General Munakata and realize the ideas of his super-solder project and the Battleship Yasomagatsu, which cannot be achieved through the technology of the Daishou era, but can be done through the technology of the Tokyo Millennium which they possess. Their hope was that doing this would prevent the Great Cataclysm and following tragedies, resulting in a happier world as a whole. However, the intention to sacrifice Tokyo for this goal put them at direct odds with Raidou XIV, whose mission was to protect it.
Raidou XL first appears pretending to be Kaya after Munakata (Sukuna-Hikona) completed his goal to summon his boss to the present timeline. While people around her noticed her abnormal hairstyle, she did not act any different from Kaya. "Kaya" then asks Raidou XIV to lead her to a crystal ball embedded within the Inlet Guardian, a statue that appeared in the middle of the Ginza, under the premise that they will destroy it. In actuality, "Kaya" is already possessed by Raidou XL and is tricking Raidou XIV into accessing a key component for the Yasomagatsu battleship. Once he locates the statue and the crystal, Raidou XL shows their true colors, takes the crystal ball, and teleports away. Raidou XL would not be seen until near the final battle.
When Raidou XIV destroys the satellite core, Gotou realizes that the main culprit to the Soulless Army incident was his future counterpart. Shortly after returning back to the surface world, they encounter a second Soulless God Oumagatsu with Raidou XL standing on its shoulder. They challenge Raidou XIV to a final battle in the realm between time known as the Akarana Corridor before leaving.
As Raidou XIV defeats them, they fuse themself with the Battleship Yasomagatsu as a last ditch attempt to kill him, but that failed as well, as Raidou exorcised Raidou XL from Kaya's body and doomed them to wander the time stream as a lost soul.
RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army[]
Raidou XL is expanded upon in the Detective Journal through downloading the "A Special Briefing" DLC. Raidou XL is revealed to be a 16-year old woman,[1] related to Kaya Daidouji by blood.[2] In 20XX, Raidou XL is a Temple Knight for the Center of Tokyo Millennium. The Order of Messiah of her time does not look kindly upon any natives with substantial power, including devil summoners. Yatagarasu was disbanded, and the summoners made to become members of the Temple Knights, where they could be easily monitored. Dissenters were sent to the front lines of conflicts, a position Raidou XL also found herself in,[1] where they were expected to quickly meet their end and serve as an example to others.
Raidou XL seeks to alter the past to avoid the present timeline she hails from. Since events that lead to the Center coming to power can potentially be traced back to the Kunistukami's defeat at the hands of the Amatsukami, it may be a reason why Raidou XL recruited Sukuna-Hikona of the Kunitsukami as an ally.[1]
Raidou XL cannot manifest directly in another part of time. Instead, she must "transfer" her memories to another person in the timeline she wishes to "go." In order for the memory transfer method Raidou XL used to work, the recipients brain must be "built" similarly, meaning there must be a blood connection. The technique entails writing information to another's brain, allowing the memories to be recalled intact in their original form. As this is a technique possessed by Inugami demons, Raidou XL directed several Inugami to bite and extract her blood, after which they were sent through the Akarana Corridor to the Daidouji families of all time periods, where the daughters would become "possessed" as the memory transfers succeeded. [2] In the game itself, Kaya's blood was extracted on a paper by Sukuna-Hikona and was transferred back to the Akarana Corridor to Raidou XL, allowing Raidou XL to possess her on the next day after she was saved.
In the battle with Raidou XIV, she uses a COMP Sword instead of a katana.

Trivia[]
