Appearances[edit | edit source]
- Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2: Protagonist
Design[edit | edit source]
The male protagonist has a white hooded puff vest, red plaid button-up shirt, black jeans and pink and red shoes. The female protagonist has a pink hoodie over a blue, purple, and white plaid dress and blue shoes.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Through the tradition of Shin Megami Tensei series, they are a silent protagonist, where their personality is based upon players' actions and decisions. The response options give the impression that they can be very serious or laid-back and witty.
Regardless, Ririn Ueda notes that they're the most normal person in the group during her Dx2 Limit Break Scenario.
Profile[edit | edit source]
Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2[edit | edit source]
The protagonist starts off as a disillusioned youth, weary about the state of the world nowadays. As if sensing their discontentment, a mysterious being named Einherjar installs the Dx2 application in their smartphone, putting them in the middle of the conflict between the Liberators and Acolytes. Einjerhar assures the protagonist that there's nothing to be afraid of, as it's "just a game" after all.
The protagonist ends up joining the Liberators, after meeting with Taro Fuse and Rika Ryuzouji by chance. With their guidance, the protagonist slowly gets used to being a Dx2, and does their part to thwart the Acolytes' schemes in various locations around Tokyo, gaining the trust and assistance of the other Liberators in the area.
At first, Taro refers to the protagonist as "Newbie" (Rookie in the Japanese script). Over time, it becomes their codename. The protagonist objects at first, but Taro assures the former that it's a good codename, since it symbolizes a new hope for the Liberators.
In an alternate scenario, the protagonist may choose to believe Jabo Kakuryuu's visions, turning them to the Acolyte side.
Dx2 Limit Break Scenario[edit | edit source]
This is unlocked after having the protagonist win 100 Leveling Quests.
In a certain building rooftop, Himika Hyuga warns the protagonist that they will be facing all the Liberators in a trial involving mortal combat, this being the destiny of those who use demons.
After emerging triumphant, it turns out that the battles weren't to the death after all. The trial was nothing more than a ritual of Gehenna to awaken the protagonist's true potential. Everyone was acting the whole time.
