Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner
A professor at Kitayama University and author of the controversial book "Theory on Ancient Japanese Civilization". In his final work before going into hiding in the mountains, he claimed to have found evidence that there was a country in Japan that had practiced magic as well as demon-summoning rituals. This country was said to have stood against being conquered by Yamatai-koku in their quest to unify Japan. His house was blown up by an explosion during the course of Devil Summoner's story.
