Phantom Masters begin appearing in the upper half of the Arqa Block in Tartarus. They will later appear on the floors of the love hotel on Shirakawa Boulevard during the July 7th Full Moon Operation.
Phantom Masters also appear in the second and third sections of Antenora within the Abyss of Time. While they are arguably less dangerous without their Mudo skill, they may be supported by Desirous Mayas, which will open up party members to attack from Fire and Ice skills with the corresponding Break skill if they are immune to damage from those elements.
Depending on the level of the party, goading Pursuing Pesce into using Evil Touch can be a problem, since guarding will prevent status effects from taking hold. Electing to escape will leave the character who chose the command unguarded, allowing the status to take hold. Phantom Master may use Ghastly Wail immediately after, instantly killing the afflicted party member.
In Golden, Phantom Masters will be summoned by Pursuing Pesce when at least one character is afflicted with the Fear status, however they may also appear on their own in Baths 5 through 8. They are now able to use single-target and multi-target low-level wind spells and Spirit Drain in addition to Ghastly Wail. When defeated, it may also drop Smoky Quartz for trade at Shiroku Pub. Selling 8 Magic Cloths is enough to unlock the Mage's Mark.
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth[]
Phantom Master appears in Stories 3 and 4 of the Evil Spirit Club. It attacks with single- and multi-target Fire skills, and can negate a party member's Fire resistance with Fire Corrosion. When defeated, it may drop Phantom Piece and Phantom Lamp. Phantom Piece is used to create the Fickle Madam for Yukiko Amagi, and the Metal Protector unisex armor. Phantom Lamp is used to create the Hero's Knickers male armor.
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth[]
Phantom Master appears on the 2nd Block of the Theater District. It attacks with heavy, single-target magic and can inflict Agility Bind on the party. When defeated, they may drop Phantom Cache and Phantom Script. Phantom Cache is used to create the Pinaka for Ken. Phantom Script is used to create the Antimatter Gun for Aigis, and the Nekomata Coat+ for Morgana.
