The special was announced on September 29, 2018, one day before the airing of the 26th and final episode (excluding specials and OVAs) of Persona 5 The Animation. The special broadcasted on December 30, 2018, and latter that same day another special titled Stars and Ours was announced to be broadcasted on March 23, 2019 and would take place after the events of the Dark Sun... special.[2]
