Profile[]
Persona 5 the Stage is an official stage play composed of four limited performances. Similar to its predecessor, the protagonist does not have an official name, changing for each performance. Fans were able to submit names to be used in the play. The direction, script, and lyrics were done by Hideyuki Nishimori[1], although he changed to a supervisor for Stage #4 Final. Naohiro Ise is the director in his place. Stage #1 and #2's songs were composed by Atsushi Kitajoh, while Stage #3 was composed by Kobayashi Tetsuya.
Attendees for #4 Final will receive a special CD containing songs from the first three stage plays.
Plot[]
The stage play is loosely based on the game's story with some changes.
For example, Shadow Kamoshida doesn't transform into Asmodeus. He summons it like a Persona instead.

Adaptation Differences[]
#2[]
- Ann is wearing her school uniform underneath her clothing when she tries to distract Yusuke.
- When picking out the real Sayuri from the fakes, Yusuke does it without any input from the rest of the team.
- When Ann falls asleep during Yusuke's welcome party, Ryuji does not try to look up her skirt and instead just puts a blanket over her.
- Yusuke copies down the license plate number by taking a photo with his phone, whereas in the game, he originally sketched it.
- The valuable item that Joker throws to the Piggytron is his knife.
- In the final song, "Phantom Thieves", Ryuji's rap changes and stays like that for the rest of the series.
#3[]
- Mishima has several original skits where he acts as a public relations officer for the Phantom Thieves.
- Mishima investigates Big Bang Burger and gets caught by an employee for bringing a non-Big Bang Burger drink into the establishment. Haru saves him from the employee and asks to have his water bottle cap to use for creating vaccines.
- Mishima sneaks around Shinjuku and is caught by a teacher.
- Mishima suspects Cafe Leblanc is where the Phantom Thieves are hiding, but he keeps missing Sojiro when coming in, so he decides the store is empty.
- Mishima tries to impress some girls when they swoon over Akechi.
- The first segment in Futaba's Palace where the Phantom Thieves must get a map from a thief was skipped.
- Wakaba is not depicted as a large monster, as she is played by an ensemble cast member with two other ensemble cast members controlling her wings.
- The Phantom Thieves help Futaba socialize by teaching her how to dance.
- The fireworks festival and beach trip are skipped. Ryuji references those parts being skipped when he complains about the group not doing these activities together.
- Yusuke does not show up on the Hawaii trip.
- The scene where the boys ask the Hawaiian locals about the Phantom Thieves was skipped.
- The part where Joker and Makoto confront Haru about her true identity was skipped.
- The characters are wearing their winter uniforms starting from when they first enter Okumura's Palace, although the uniform switch comes after the Palace is opened.
- The segment where the Phantom Thieves must get keys from the robots was skipped.
#4[]
- Only the scene where Akechi gives a Q & A at Shujin Academy during the cultural festival was kept. All others were skipped, including the scene where Akechi eats the spicy takoyaki.
- The Phantom Thieves turning into mice was skipped.
- The Phantom Thieves get the recommendation letters by simply speaking to their targets, with the exception of the yakuza members. Some conversations were changed, such as Haru only getting her letter by begging the TV employee to give Okumura Foods another chance, or the adaptation not including Yusuke designing a tattoo for the yakuza. The former noble was skipped.
- The play ends when Joker returns to school after Shido's defeat. It does not adapt the final part of the game where the Phantom Thieves go to the Depths of Mementos.
