Teddie takes over Chie Satonaka as the Ice specialist of the team, learning the whole Bufu line and gaining Ice Boost and Amp on top of having a competent Magic stat to use it with. He also has a good array of support skills, learning up to Mediarahan, Amrita and Samarecarm for healing, and Matarukaja and Marakukaja as group buffs. Pairing Teddie with Yosuke Hanamura allows the party to efficiently deploy all three group buffs in quick succession. Teddie makes for a versatile party member but the 8 skill limit prevents him from being able to use all of his skill set at once.
Teddie is strong against Ice and is weak against Electricity.
Unlike other party members, as Teddie's Social Link is automatic, and on December 6th, his PersonaKintoki-Douji will evolve into Kamui, a day after his Social Link maxes out. This will let him nullify Ice attacks, and will make him strong against Wind and Dark skills. He'll also earn an even boost between all of his stats by 1 point.
Combatant that doubles between offense and recovery. Though having a wide variety of healing, Teddie uses Marakukaja to negate the need of further protection, and has Amrita to cure allies precisely. Teddie emphasizes on control over strength, and can be interpreted as a team unifier.
In Persona 4 Golden, Teddie retains his original moveset and gains a few Physical skills so that he can make use of his Strength stat. As party members now learn skills by leveling up their Social Links in addition to the fact that Teddie's Social Link is automatic, these skills can be considered part of his developing moveset aside from being optional. Because of it, Teddie now learns Auto-Rakukaja from the beginning, and picks up Marakunda later into his Social Link. Recarm and Samarecarm have also been transferred into his Social Link.
Teddie's Bike skills offer a mixture of utility or support skills to use, but the most valuable skill at the end is Evade Physical - combined with Evade Elec that he picks up at the end of his Social Link, it gives Teddie the distinction of being able to possess two Evade passives. However, the 8 skill limit means that despite the many ways Teddie can be built, the player will be forced to give up part of his kit no matter what.
If the protagonist talks to Teddie in the Junes Department Store lobby during the winter, his Persona will evolve into Kamui-Moshiri, allowing him to drain Ice and nullify Wind and Dark skills. Additionally, he's able to learn Kamui Miracle, a powerful move with unknown effects, which can be either beneficial or detrimental to the group. As constant use can quickly lead the party to defeat, it is recommended to only use this skill in emergencies.
