Kanji's primary perks are his high Strength, HP and Endurance, which allows him to dole out heavy single-target Physical hits and take hits with great ease, at the cost of middling accuracy and crit rate owing to his subpar Agility and Luck. Unlike fellow physical attacker Chie Satonaka, Kanji learns the full suite of Elec spells, going up to Maziodyne and Elec Amp, but his low Magic and SP keep him from being an outstanding Elec-based attacker. These spells are preferably for exploiting enemy weaknesses or striking anything immune to physical attacks.

To differentiate him from Chie's physical output (especially since his Social Link now gives him Power Charge), Kanji's build is focused on sustainability with Regenerate 3 offsetting his physical skills' costs and Fast Heal shortening his recovery time from ailments. The game also grants him additional support skills, like Masukunda to offset his poor accuracy, and Mediarama to function as a backup healer.
If Kanji's Social Link has already been maxed out, the protagonist will be able to talk to him during Winter, getting him to evolve his Persona into Takeji Zaiten. He'll be able to absorb Electricity, and resist Physical attacks. In addition, he's able to learn "The Man's Way," giving Kanji a chancing of Downing all enemies and inflicting them with the Dizzy ailment, making them very vulnerable to attack.
