Osaka (大阪市, Ōsaka-shi)? is a designated city in the Kansai region of Japan. It is the capital city of Osaka Prefecture and the largest component of the Keihanshin Metropolitan Area, the second largest metropolitan area in Japan and among the largest in the world with more than 20 million inhabitants.
Today, Osaka is a major financial center of Japan. It is home to the Osaka Securities Exchange as well as the multinational electronics corporations Panasonic and Sharp. Osaka is also known as the "Nation's Kitchen," well known for foods such as takoyaki and okonomiyaki. The most famous food district in Osaka is Dōtonbori, which has a clown puppet named Kuidaore Taro as their mascot.[1]
Famous landmarks in Osaka include Osaka Castle - which played a pivotal role in the Siege of Osaka and was featured in the 1980 American TV mini-series Shogun; Shitennō-ji (四天王寺*)? - the oldest Buddhist temple in Japan; and Tsūtenkaku (通天閣, lit. "Tower Reaching Heaven"*)?, a tower located in the Shinsekai district of Naniwa-ku.

In the Septentrione Arc, the party travels to Osaka to meet with Keita Wakui who promised to show them around. Later, the fight against Merak happens in this part of Tokyo. Osaka is also a location the party travels to during the events of the Triangulum Arc on Wednesday.
Persona 5 Strikers[edit | edit source]
Osaka is one of the locations the Phantom Thieves travel to during their summer vacation. They visit the Naniwa-ku ward. One of the locations the protagonist can travel in is Shinsekai (新世界*)?.
Osaka is home to the global IT company "Madicce," which provides innovative services. They're the developers behind the EMMA app, with Akira Konoe being its president.
