A One more (spelled as "1 more") is a recurring element in the Persona series from Persona 3 onward.

When an ally or enemy Downs an opponent, usually by striking that opponent's elemental weakness or lands a Critical hit, they are able to gain an extra turn. This can lead to multiple 1 More!s if they continue fulfilling the necessary criteria, until either all enemies are knocked down (in which case it can lead to an All-out Attack or a Hold Up) or they cannot hit any more weaknesses on opponents that are not knocked down.
If the protagonist switches Personas, they cannot switch Personas again in a "1 More!"
The technique is also useful when exploiting weaknesses, as the party member that did so can gain an additional action, and extend the streak in-between by downing other enemies. The final action can range from anything to dealing additional weak damage to an already Downed enemy (especially since they take more damage for being knocked down,) attacking a different enemy entirely, or even using that opportunity to end their turn with a Support or Healing skill. Certain things that can break a streak would be running out of SP or missing their attack.
Persona 3 / FES[]
In Persona 3 and Persona 3 FES, if the user casts a multi-target skill, 1 More! cannot be obtained unless it downs all enemies. Single-target skills are treated as normal, and only require the target of the attack to be knocked down.
Persona 3 Portable[]
Unlike the other two games, Persona 3 Portable's functions the same as it did in Persona 4, now being able to perform a 1 More with multi-target skills, as long as it downs at least a single enemy.
Persona 3 Reload[]
Unlike Portable, Persona 3 Reload functions the same way as Persona 5, while Shift functions the same way as Baton Pass but without strengthening attack and recovery power. Furthermore, chances of occurring Shuffle Time increases during a battle.
Persona 4 / Golden[]
Ameno-sagiri's Quake has the unique chance to Down enemies randomly, but cannot reward a One More.
In Persona 4 Golden, Kanji Tatsumi's signature skill, The Man's Way, which has the chance to Down all targets, will grant the user a One More if it succeeds, regardless of it not dealing any damage.
Persona 4 Arena / Ultimax[]
In Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, a "1 More" refers to a roman cancel, which is a way to end recovery of a move. It costs 50 SP.
Persona 5 / Royal[]
In Persona 5, if "One More" is activated, the user will have the ability to pass their turn to another ally, activating Baton Pass, strengthening their attack and recovery power.
In Persona 5 Royal, as there is now the chance to down enemies through Technical damage, it will also subsequently activate One More. If the party's Technical rank is maxed out, Technical attacks will always Down, guaranteeing a One More in succession.
Combatant with ailments can still get a One More when knocking down a target, including brainwashed users on their own ally, although the normal UI visual effect of One More would not be played in such cases. Normally, if a party member manages to simultaneously Downs an foe and gets inflicted with an ailment with their own attack, the subsequent One More will be influenced and even impaired by that ailment. However, due to a glitch, if that attack is done after a Baton Pass, the party member will be able to act freely during the One More, ignoring the disability caused by Freeze, Shock, Brainwash, Rage, Sleep, Confuse, Despair.
Certain traits can only be activated while the user is under the effects of One More: Cold-Blooded will boost the user's chances of inflicting Freeze, Bolstering Force increases the user's Attack power by 50%, and Grace of the Olive nullifies the HP and SP cost of skills to 0.
In some cases, enemies can be Downed without granting a One More, like:
- a Follow Up attack.
- a Showtime inflicts Technical damage and Downs an enemy.
- the party member becomes fainted during their attack, such as via a simultaneous repel.
- if a ranged attack Downs an enemy via one shot but their turn is abruptly stopped when another is blocked, repelled, or absorbed (whether via affinity or Counter skills,) the effect will also cancel the reward of receiving a One More. This happens even in the case of Haru's multi-target grenade launcher. This cancellation is exclusive to ranged attacks, and does not happen with skills.
- Position Hack activated.
- Thieves Guild knocking down a Shadow making its escape.
Persona 5 Strikers[]
In Persona 5 Strikers, a "1 More" can occur if an enemy with multiple Down Gauges has one broken, or if the player attacks a major boss with an environmental action during certain attacks. When this occurs, a "1 More" prompt will appear over the enemy. Pressing the Action Button while a "1 More" is on-screen will cause the playable character to jump towards the enemy and execute an automatic follow-up attack. After the Baton Pass ability is unlocked, a random party member will attempt to execute a 1 More when available; swapping to the prompted party member will execute a Baton Pass and a 1 More simultaneously.
Later, the player will unlock the Spirit Striker perk from the BOND menu, where accomplishing a 1 More will regain SP to the attacker, which improves with each level.
Persona 5 Tactica[]
In Persona 5 Tactica, "1 More" can allow a character to be usable again, which allows the ability to trigger a Triple Threat attack.
Strategies[]
Because of the functionality of One Mores, there are several key ways to use them. Under normal circumstances, One Mores make it possible to knock down and exploit the weaknesses on as many enemies as possible, especially if enemies have different weaknesses or as damage control if an attack misses one of the enemies.
The second way of handling One Mores is to use support/healing skills & items afterwards while consistently dealing damage: One Mores in that case help move the battle forward and preventing the party from stalling on the defensive.
Otherwise, to truly deal as much damage as possible, it is recommended to follow suit on a knocked down enemy with a Physical attack rather than repeat a Magic attack. In comparison, Magic attacks specialize in downing enemies, while Physical attacks deal more damage overall. For example, in Shadow Yosuke's boss fight of Persona 4, where the protagonist is forced to fight alone, it is efficient to first use Zio to exploit its weakness, and then cast Cleave after a One More.
Even with the inclusion of All-out Attacks, it is recommended to consider withdrawing with the command and making the most out of the respective One More turn: appropriate support and healing may be important, and in certain cases Physical skills can do far more damage than a concentrated All-out Attack even if there is HP cost to it. Additionally, depending on the turn order, multiple characters may be able to exploit the enemy's down state before they get back up, and even then they'll do so one by one.
In Persona 5, the functionality of Baton Pass can be used as an extension to these strategies.
On a mathematical scale, as the Down multiplier multiples the taken damage by x1.25, if the first attack has depleted at least 44.4% of the remaining HP, assuming the next attack isn't changed up with another, it will be enough to insta-kill the respective enemy. If the first attack was enhanced by Charge or Concentrate, it needs to deal at least 65% damage for the second attack to be a kill. The rules of damage variance can still affect the output of the attack and interfere with its success rate.
