History

Njörðr, sometimes anglicized as Njord, Njoerd, or Njorth, is a god among the Vanir in Norse mythology. He is associated with sea, seafaring, wind, fishing, wealth, and crop fertility. Njörðr is father of the deities Freyr and Freya by his unnamed Van sister. He was in an ill-fated marriage with the goddess Skaði and lives in Nóatún.
