Nero is the protagonist of Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5. The son of Dante's twin brother Vergil and the grandson of the demon knight Sparda, Nero operates a branch of his uncle Dante's demon-hunting business: Devil May Cry.
Nero was raised in the city of Fortuna and joined the Order of the Sword: a militant religious organization devoted to Sparda alongside his adoptive brother Credo before the organization's dark secrets were unveiled to him by Dante. After helping Dante to take down the Order, Nero was gifted the Yamato, his brother's sword, and he would later open up his own mobile branch of Devil May Cry.
Nero would later join Dante to stop a new demonic threat in the form of the demon Urizen, later revealed to be his own father Vergil, who had taken his arm in a plan for power just weeks before. At the top of Qliphoth his father grew in his quest for power, Nero was finally able to attain the height of his demonic power by refusing to allow the two brothers to kill each other and finally put an end to the feud between the two Sons of Sparda.
Much like Dante, Nero's demonic bloodline grants him supernatural abilities and powers. He once possessed a right arm that concentrated all his demonic power known as the Devil Bringer, though after having it severed by Vergil, it was replaced by mechanical prosthetics with various abilities called Devil Breakers.

In Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2, Nero appears as a guest character alongside Dante and V who are also from the Devil May Cry series.
