Profile[]

Narui was born as Narui Hino, younger sister to Shuichiro Hino, who would go on to be called Yakumo Kusaka. As a child, Narui had a rough upbringing as she was constantly beaten by a physically abusive father over the littlest of mistakes. She played the Persona Game with her brother, who awoken to his Persona, Kijimuna, often using it to heal Narui from her beatings. Narui still loved her parents and would constantly pray to awaken to her Persona as well, believing things would stop if she became a Persona-user. After another beating by her father, Yakumo snapped and had another Persona. Naga, murder their parents. Due to the supernatural nature of the murders, it was never traced back to Yakumo, but Narui was left in terror of her brother. Ultimately, she was taken in by her uncle while Yakumo opted to remain home. Before she left, she tearfully declared she had no brother.

As she grew into a young woman, Narui would awaken to her Persona, Bishamonten. However, she would then be caught up in the Persona Hunt, where Persona-users that reside in Sumaru City would be targeted and have their Persona's stolen, before falling into a comatose state. To survive, Narui would hide away, eventually joining with Keito and Rinne, hiding out in an old factory. Alongisde J.F, a Jack Frost that Rinne befriended, they became the Factory Family.

While stern to those on her team and a bit of a short fuse when it comes to her teammates antics, Narui is more caring than she lets on, especially to the younger ones like Kazumi Kiba and genuinely wants to see them safe, as well as the Persona Hunt stopped. She is more than willing to act like a mentor to Kazumi, being proficient in the ways of being a Persona-user. When it comes to her relationship with Yakumo, while she tried to push her feelings about him away and even claimed that she despised him, in truth she was tormented over her being the reason Yakumo killed their parents and then leaving him afterwards. As the story progresses, she resolves herself to stopping Yakumo in order to restore their relationship.

Narui first appeared alongside the rest of the Factory Family, saving Kazumi from being attacked by his former friend Rihito Shimizu. They welcome him into their hideout, though when Kazumi goes to leave Narui sees him outside, talking about how Rihito, when he awaked his Persona, clearly found his true path in life and that Kazumi likely never truly knew his friend. While this upsets Kazumi, their conversation is interrupted when the tarot cards left behind by Rihito spawn demons that the Family needs to defeat. During this battle, Narui is saved by Kazumi, who resolves to find out the truth from Rihito's mouth. From there, Narui follows him, giving him advice on how to be an efficient Persona-user when he tries to leave. They both head to the Velvet Room to ask Igor for insight in the situation, but their enemies own dark influence has blocked his ways of peaking into the physical world. He does confirm their enemies hold the ability to steal Personas for themselves and using demons to seek them out. When both leave, they are attacked by the demon Fafnir and, despite Narui's atttempts to Negotiate with it, it fails and they're forced to fight. However, soon after they defeat it Narui has her Persona reaped by Rihito, though before she falls into a coma utters for Kazumi to stop Nymphea.

She is taken to the Velvet Room where Rinne decides to use the Red Book to recover Narui's persona whilst the guys are out to Alaya Shrine to gather some weapons. Thanks to this, Narui wakes up and, due to her time under the effects of being reaped, she reveals that Nymphea is harvesting Personas to pour into the Black Book, which is dormant, in order to awaken it. Her Personas, Bishamonten, had a vision where there were Four Keys that would allow them to defeat the Reapers, the first being at Yumezaki Station.

However, when the Family gets there, they are attack by one of the Reapers, Ujiya, whose own Grim Reaper boosted his Persona's abilitiees to the point he was easily taking on the Family. Before things could progress further, Yakumo appears before the group. He divulges his past with Narui, who tries to reject him in favor of trying to stop him right then and there. However, with help from Kazumi, she's able to confront the feelings about the matter with her brother. She resolves to stop Yakumo for the sake of reuniting and reconciling with him, which causes her to pass Philemon's test. In truth, what she was talking with was an illusion he crafted to award her the Fire Key, which she uses to defeat Ujiya's Persona and destroying his Grim Reaper.

From there, Narui sees the next location of another key at Ebisu Beach in Kounan Ward, which Keito to leaves to attend to while the rest of the Family stood back for a bit to get answers from a defeated Ujiya. However, after realizing that destroying his Reaper reaped Ujiya's Persona they race to the beach to inform Keito of this during his battle with another Reaper - Kain Junsa. Ultimately, Keito his Key, the Wind Key, from this and has to use to defeat Kain. After this battle, Narui's Persona is unable to gleam anymore locations, thus leaving the Family blind over the next keys for the time being. During this time Yakumo opted to do a test run of the Black Book's power for a Sumaru Television interview. During this interview he airs his version of his past and shows off 'his family', illusions crreated by the Black Book in an attempt to rewrite his past. As a result, Narui is harmed by this until the run is over.

At this point, when she recovered, Kazumi unlocked his Key, the Earth Key, and sealed part of the Black Book's power during his fight with another Reaper, BB. The Family plans to head to Nymphea and use their Keys to seal the Book to put a stop to their plans for good, but they need to acquire the last Key first. Unfortunately, Yakumo strikes first and uses the Macro-Persona, Schwarz, to kidnap Rinne. Wanting to save their friend, the remainder of the Family go to get her back, though not before Narui and Keito get Igor's aid for later on. To get into Nymphea, they travel to Yakumo and Narui's old house, which is a direct transport to it. Instead, they team gets transported to an alternate Sumaru City - where the rest of the world has been destroyed. There, they are attacked by the remaining Reapers and an army of demons that they gathered. They fight and while they clear out the demons, Narui and Keito are forced to stay behind to defeat Yuri and Rea. These Reapers have begun to grow stronger and even mutate due to the Black Book's tampering, but its then that Narui and Keito unveil their ultimate Persona. For Narui, her ultimate Persona is Suzaku. Combined with Keito's Odin, they defeat the Reapers and are able to move on to help Kazumi fight Yakumo. Despite their Keys and new Persona's, its a tough fight against him and Yakumo is close to losing himself due to being unable to handle the Black Book's power. In the end, Rihito defects from Nymphea, having acquired the last Key, the Aqua Key from Rinne and his ultimate Persona coming from her Varuna. Together, all four defeat Yakumo and destroy Schwarz with the Quadra Termination fusion spell.

In the epilogue, Narui goes to care for Yakumo while he is in the hospital in a comatose state. While the doctors believe he won't wake up, Narui believes otherwise, having hope in Yakumo's recovering as she sees Kijimuna, his original Persona, by his bedside. When Yakumo does wake up, Narui plans to fully repair their relationship to make things right this side.
