An addition to Persona 4 Golden, the movie theater is located in Okina City. To gain access to the area, the protagonist must first obtain his bike license on June 9, then ride it 3 times around Inaba. Unlike other entries in the series, watching movies does not grant any Social Stats, and they must be watched with a party member. Party members will be unwilling to go if a victim is still trapped in the Midnight Channel.
Watching a movie will raise the accompanying party member's level and 3 of their battle stats by 1 each, for a total of 6 stat points per viewing. However, Rise Kujikawa will only gain a level. If a movie is a party member's favorite, they will gain some progress towards their Social Link. Individual party members can watch each movie only once, but the protagonist may see the same movie multiple times with different members.
Each movie begins screening on the first of the month. When a party member's favorite movie becomes available, they will inform the protagonist by texting him in his room at the Dojima Residence. Due to story events, no movie can be viewed in December.

Persona 5 / Royal[]
There are three individual movie theaters found in Shibuya, Shinjuku and Yongen-Jaya. A viewing costs a Movie Ticket worth ¥1,500. The activity is only available after Kamoshida's Palace has been destroyed.
The movie changes on the 1st of certain months, and each theater follows a different schedule and screens different movies. Each movie can boost a different social stat when viewed. The protagonist can watch the same film only two times on his own, with the second time only giving one point of the respective stat, instead of the usual three.
Aside from watching them individually, the protagonist can also hang out with Confidants whenever they invite him over the phone on certain days. That way, he'll be able to watch the same movie a 3rd time.
If the protagonist reads the book Cinema Treasures, the points received from watching films will be boosted by one, even if it still displays three notes.
In Royal, more films were added in January and February. For Yongen-Jaya in particular, The Good Father was moved to February, and the screening time for Back to the Ninja was shortened to 1 month for more room in November.
