History[]
Mothman is a cryptid of American origin. In the mid-1960s, there were some sightings of a great winged creature with massive reddish eyes. It is thought (outside of cryptozoology) that these might actually be misconstrued sandhill cranes or barn owls.
Mothman can be encountered in the Ikebukuro Tunnel as a random encounter. Due to being a demon of the Wilder race, the Demi-fiend cannot speak to them unless he either uses the Jive Talk conversation skill if he has it or encounters one in a dazed demon state during the Full Kagutsuchi.
A Mothman with the most powerful multi-target elemental spells can be purchased from a Shady Broker in the Labyrinth of Amala for 50,000 Macca.
Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE[]
"An elusive creature first sighted in West Virginia, USA in the 1960s. About two meters in height, the Mothman wears no clothes and has a pair of giant wings on its back. It can fly at amazing speeds, and those who witness it catch only a fleeting glimpse. As a result, very little is known about it. The area where it has been spotted are also well known for U.F.O. sightings, fueling speculation that the Mothman itself may be an extraterrestrial."
—Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE compendium

Mothman is a Persona of the Hermit Arcana. It will be unlocked for fusion after obtaining the Vibrant Feather key item by defeating the Sky Overseer on the 82nd floor of Tartarus in Yabbashah. Once the Vibrant Feather has been obtained, Mothman can be fused in the Velvet Room once the protagonist has reached level 31. One of Elizabeth'srequests asks the protagonist to show her a Mothman with the skill Agilao. This can be accomplished easily by fusing Sati with Shiisaa or applying an Agilao Skill Card to a Mothman that has been fused already from a different set of Personas.
