In Golden, it appears in Chapters 5 through 8. It gains a resistance to wind and may also absorb ice. It may drop Howlite for trade at Shiroku Pub.

Monomaniac Fuzz appears in Special Screening #3: Officer Imposter! in the 3rd Ave of Kamoshidaman. Elizabeth tasks the party with finding a Shadow impersonating a police officer in Kamo City. In order to track down the fake, the party must determine which officer is lying. Clues are found by interacting with police cars, which can optionally be located with Futaba's help after turning on the searchlights. The party will be asked who the culprit is after acquiring five clues.
Since four of the five cars have double 1s, then 77-55 can't be lying, which in turn means 11-10 isn't lying. 11-77 says that 11-10 is suspicious, and since that isn't true, it means 11-77 is the fake. Confront the officer and the party will be thrown into a fight with two Monomaniac Fuzzes. They are weak to Curse, and if both are knocked down, it might be better to not do the All-Out Attack to make them waste their turn getting up. Once they are defeated, the Screening will be complete, rewarding the party with Large Drink Rcp and 1,500 EXP.
