Martira, Old Castle Town (マルティラ, Marutira)? is a town in the Kingdom of Euchronia.
Profile[]
The other name for Martira, the "Old Castle Town" gains its namesake from the Kriegante Castle, a castle originated from the Annexation War that now acts as the homebase for its governor Sanctoress Joanna and her fellow town guardsmen. It has a rustic atmosphere despite its size.[1] The surrounding area is a desert infested by sandworms and where the human Greatworm Homo Butera resides. Further within was a cave where Heismay initially makes his hideout at after being exiled from the shadowguard and being framed for a series of mass kidnappings that he did not commit. The larvae of the sandworms living in the surrounding area are considered a local delicacy.
During the story, the protagonist faction arrives here to claim Heismay's bounty for a place in the Tournament for the Throne. The true culprit was actually Joanna herself, who has been ordering soldiers such as Morris to feed her people, including children, to a large human she kept as a pet under the delusion that it was the reincarnation of her dead child. As Joanna is a reputable public figure who orchestrated the indirect serial killings in complete secret, she was able to go under suspicion for half a year because almost nobody would believe she did it. After her crimes are exposed and the party brings her to Forden for execution in Port Brilehaven with her full cooperation, Bardon becomes the new governor of Martira. However, his over-vigilant efforts caused people to kick him off the position and replace him with a clergyman named Gastreaux. If the protagonist completes his bond event, Bardon will be re-instated as its governor.
Activities[]
- The protagonist can gaze at the view of Martira by sitting over at a bench. This increases the user's Wisdom Royal Virtue by 3 coins. It is only available before 9/26.
- Talking with a pagan increases the Tolerance stat by 3 coins.
- The protagonist can bungee jump for a fee. Success for the jump updates the phase by 1, and is dependent on the Courage stat:
- First phase costs 250 reeve. The protagonist will receive a Foreign Coin alongside 4 coins of Courage. It will also increase his popularity.
- Second phase costs 375 reeve. It presumably requires Courage Rank 3, and successfully meeting the condition will reward the protagonist with a Foreign Coin and 4 coins of Courage. Failing to meet the condition will reward the protagonist with only Gambling Stall Silver and 3 coins of Courage.
- Third phase costs 500 reeve. It requires Courage Rank 5.
- Listening to a story from long ago by the Nostalgic Elder will increase the Imagination stat by 3.
- The protagonist can milk cows in Cattleracket Road. A dialogue option minigame will commence where a pattern has to be memorized, between "left" and "right" three times, and the correct dialogue choices need to be given in the exact order. The results are dependent on how many correct inputs have been made: getting all 3 options right will reward with 4 coins of Tolerance and 6 cups of Mellow Milk, but failing even once will result in 3 coins of Tolerance and 4 cups of Mellow Milk. Available only during the day.
- In Starstone Market, there's a podium that is available. The protagonist will host a speech on the podium and will have to choose the correct response to reach their hearts. There are 2 different events that rotate between each-other, and the correct choices for each are "Let's promote local delicacies" and "I let my actions speak." Getting it right will reward in 4 coins in addition to 1,500 reeve as a donation, but getting it wrong will reward only 3 coins of Eloquence with no monetary compensation.
- On certain days of the week, the protagonist instead debates with Loveless O'Shea (Flamesday), Lina Kayden (Watersday) and Roger Ward (Metalsday). They only appear presumably until 7/16 and they can only be debated once. Choosing "Alcohol won't bring equality," "What are your policies?" or "Taxes benefit us all" against either respectivevly will result in a win, granting 4 coins of Eloquence, 1 coin of Imagination and 2,500 reeve, but losing only rewards 3 coins of Eloquence and 1 coin of Imagination with no money. For information on the days of the week, see Calendar/Metaphor: ReFantazio.
