Magic Incense, often shortened to simply Ma Incense for text limitations, is a reoccurring incense consumable item.
Effect[]
In Shin Megami Tensei, Magic Incenses are used to increase a human's Magic stat by one.
In Shin Megami Tensei IV and IV Apocalypse, Ma Incenses are used to increase either the respective protagonists of the game or his demons' Magic stats by 3. Using them also restores all of the user's HP and MP, though in Apocalypse, this was changed to just HP. Additionally, Apocalypse also added a "Small" variant of Incenses, with Ma Incenses (Small) having none of the medicinal properties of the regular variant as well as raising the Magic stat by just 1.
In the Shin Megami Tensei V games, Magic Incenses can be used to increase a demon's Magic stat by 1. It cannot be used on the Nahobino, as he has his own variant in Magic Balm, or, in Vengeance, with Guest Characters.
In Persona 3 Reload, Magic Incenses I - III permanently raises the stat of any Persona's Strength stat, be it one of the protagonist's Personas, or any of the other Personas used by the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad. How much Magic Incenses increases a Persona's Magic stat depends on the three eponymous variants of Magic Incense.
In Persona 5 Strikers, Magic Incenses permanently raises the stat of any Persona's Magic stat by one per use, be it one of the protagonist's Personas, or any of the other Personas used by the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.
In the localization of the Devil Children series, Magic Incenses are called "Magic Gum," but in the original Japanese, they're still called Magic Incenses, though they use the English word "Magic" in the name.
In Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE (Encore), Mag Incenses increase the Mag stat of a Mirage Master, as well as expands their max EP count and replenishes their HP.
