Shin Megami Tensei II[edit | edit source]

Madam is the governess of Valhalla, elected by the Senate to administrate the area as she pleases. She lives in her mansion north-east of Valhalla, and oversees the happenings of the area from there. She is accompanied by her pet, Cerberus.

Her vision is to create Valhalla as a place of leisure and pleasure. Since given complete authority over the area, she founded the Colosseum and the Casino. She wished for Valhalla to remain an independent area away from the strict rulings given from the Center.

However, it turns out that there's a reason behind the complete authority given to Madam by the Center. The Center is searching for citizens fitting for the Thousand Year Kingdom, aptly named Tokyo Millennium. Somehow, she had served that purpose; Valhalla was swallowed by the Tyrant Abaddon, along with her in it.

It is revealed that before the events of the game, Madam knew the hero and Cerberus and that she served him as he worked to expand Valhalla. After the hero's death, Cerberus joins her when he sees her near the area the hero apparently died in an accidental cave in.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • According to Kazuma Kaneko Works III, the chains on her costume are symbolic of chastity, and are also featured on Maria's design from Shin Megami Tensei NINE.
