Cameo Bosses[]

The cameo boss is a collective role fulfilled by one of two characters, depending on the version of the game. The cameo boss first appears in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax, a director's cut version in Japan, internationally released as the standard game.

Dante takes the role of the cameo boss in the first version of Nocturne Maniax on the PlayStation 2, and the PS2 Classics rerelease of Nocturne Maniax on the PlayStation 3. Raidou Kuzunoha is the cameo boss in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Mainiax Chronicle Edition, which was released only in Japan with a limited edition of Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon. By default, Raidou reprises his role in Nocturne HD Remaster for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, but the player can have Dante appear instead with the purchase of the Maniax Pack DLC.
