History
The Abyssinian cat breed was believed to have originated from a cat named Zula, who was brought to England by Captain Barrett Leonard when he returned from service in the Abyssinian wars in the 1860s. There are other sources that say the breed has been around for thousands of years in Ancient Egypt. Cats in the Lovecraft story "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" are intelligent and can speak the human tongue.
