Persona 4 / Golden[]
Large Basalts appear on floors 7 and 8 of the Marukyu Striptease within the Midnight Channel. They will be accompanied by a Liberating Idol and together they will use their Foul Breath skill while the Idol attempts to use Valiant Dance to Enrage the party, which will leave the party open to heavy damage from Physical attacks while being unable to strike the weaknesses of the Shadows. When defeated, Large Basalt may drop Tortoise Shell. Selling ten Tortoise Shells at Daidara Metalworks will unlock the Masquerade for Yukiko Amagi in the shop.
In Golden, Large Basalts appear on Floors 3-6 as Red Shadows, and Floors 7 and 8 as regular Shadows. Light and Darkness spells have a lower chance of connecting despite being set as its weakness. It may cast Stagnant Air, inflict Silence on the party with Makajam, and reflect Physical attacks with Counterstrike. Selling eight Tortoise Shells at Daidara is enough to unlock the Masquerade for Yukiko. It may also drop Lepidolite for trade at Shiroku Pub.
