Lanling Wang (蘭陵王), known as Raryou-oh in Japan, is a decorative title of the historical Chinese general Gao Changgong (高長恭) from the Northern and Southern Dynasties who died in AD 573. He is the main character of the famous Nuo Opera Lanling Wang Ru Zhen Qu (Lanling Wang Proceeding to Battlefield). It was popular during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The original score and dancing was lost in China for thousand year but was preserved in Japan.
As a member of the Famed race, Lanling Wang can only be obtained through a Fusion Accident. Fusing a KO'd Foul demon, Mad Gasser, with a KO'd Vidofnir has a high chance of resulting in a fusion accident that will yield Lanling Wang. Lanling Wang can teach Flynn the Javelin Rain and Berserker God skills through his Demon Whisper, as well as any skills inherited from the initial demons.
Lanling Wang is encountered in the Challenge Quest "Secure Water Source" given by the Natural Resource Team through the Hunter Association. Lanling Wang has set up a Domain over the water source after hearing that it could ease his suffering, but grows angry when the water proves to do nothing to aid him. He proceeds to attack Nanashi and company, wanting to wash away his resentment with their blood. During the battle, Lanling Wang will be aided by three strong Zhen demons, which will attempt to inflict status ailments on the party with Poison Breath and Pandemic Bomb. Lanling Wang will be attacking during this time with Physical attacks. The Zhen demons can have their weakness to Gun attacks exploited for more turns, but as Langling Wang nulls Gun attacks, hitting him with them as well will result in a loss of turns.

Lanling Wang can be obtained if Zeed is level 40 or higher and fused with a Seiryu during a new moon.
