Design[]
Kiyoshi has straight, short brown hair, brown eyes, freckles and red rectangular glasses. He wears a black turtleneck sweater with silver chevrons beneath his uniform, red converse shoes and a pin on his lapel.
As Key, he wears a white turtleneck undershirt, a dark jacket with a long tail covered by a cassock, white pleated pants, dangling straps over his shoulders, belts around his wrists, a green gemstone on the top middle of his back and black dress shoes with golden buckles. There is dark red underlighting on his jacket's tail, from his armpits to his elbows, and beneath the cassock. His mask is black with gold accents.

Persona 5: The Phantom X[]
Kiyoshi is a first-year student at Kokatsu Academy who has an invested interest in the supernatural.[1]He considers himself as "the chosen one" and claims that he possesses some kind of special powers, but at a cost of having difficulty making friends.
Born with a weak body subject to illness, he has spent most of his childhood alone reading different kinds of books. Even now, he still has deep interest in fictional worlds.
Kiyoshi is first seen at the train station in Chapter 1. Upon noticing the protagonist, he muses the thoughts of sensing two presences (refering to Ruferu in the protagonist's bag), but eventually dismisses the idea.
Chapter 4: The Masked Actor's Melancholy[]
Kiyoshi reappears in Chapter 4 to help act as a supporting actor due to not being enough actors for the performance.

- His All-Out Attack Finishing Touch reads, "Exorcizamus te" which translates to "We exorcise you" in Latin.
Etymology[]
His last name, 黒谷 (“Kurotani”) means the "black valley," while his first name "Kiyoshi"「 清 」would mean "pure." His full name together would be "the pure black valley."
