The uncle of Kaya Daidouji, Kiyoshi is the younger brother of Takeshi Daidouji, head of the Daidouji family. Kiyoshi was the owner of the prosperous Daidouji Factory north of Fukagawa-Cho until bizarre circumstances forced its closure, making Kiyoshi bankrupt. On top of that, the Daidouji curse seemed to be affecting him too...

Kiyoshi came to a deal with Munakata concerning his cursed niece, Kaya. Kiyoshi was to hand Kaya over to the army so they could extract the demon, and in return would fund Kiyoshi in rebuilding his business. Sadly, the army betrayed Kiyoshi, took Kaya, and refused to lend him aid.

During Raidou's private investigation into the disappearance of Kaya, Kiyoshi hired him to bring her back safely. Later, after worry over what he had done and lost, Kiyoshi developed a Hiruko, which took the form of a Red Cape. Raidou was able to catch up with him just in time to see the Hiruko suck the remaining energy from Kiyoshi, and leave his body. Kiyoshi collapsed on the ground, and was rushed to hospital by his old work colleagues. His condition is serious, but now stable.

Etymology

• The name Kiyoshi means "clear, pure, clean" (清).
• Kiyoshi's surname Daidouji means "big, great" (大) (dai), "path" (道) (dou) and "temple" (寺) (ji).
