Kiskil-lilla is the alternate form of Kumi Katayama in Persona 5: The Phantom X.
History[]
In Sumerian mythology, Kiskil-lilla (formerly written as kisikillilla) is a female demon associated with night. She is the daughter of Anu the king of the gods and Ninhursag the mother goddess of the mountains.
According to the myths, she was initially found by Inanna during her journey to the kingdom of Ereshkigal, and recruited as one of her servants. Since then, Kiskil-lilla was assigned as the guardian of the Huluppu Tree, whose seed had been given to Enki by Ereshkigal. She also assumed a role mainly associated with night, as the god of nocturnal storms and a succubus. Her image was a beautiful and sexual woman perching on two wild cats and holding two nooses, with a pair of claws of a raptor in place of feet.
Because of phonetic similarities, Kiskil-lilla is often referred as Ardat-lili or Lilitu, who are also female demons from Mesopotamian mythology. In fact, they are three different figures.
Kiskil-lilla also made her appearance in the Akkadian addendum to the Epic of Gilgamesh, depicted as a demon imprisoned in ten trees and a votive of the cult of Inanna, accompanied by a serpent and an Anzu bird. She was eventually slain by Gilgamesh.
